Joey Ward – Ink to Plate
$125.00 – $1,300.00
Joey Ward’s Spoonful Story
For Atlanta-based chef Joey Ward, this spoon symbolizes his transition from cook to chef. “This was the first spoon that I purchased. This spoon marked my decision to invest in myself and to invest in my career. It is not the best spoon I’ve ever had, but you never forget your first. In the beginning, plating with this spoon felt clumsy and awkward, but eventually, the more I used it, the better we became together. Eventually, the spoon seemed to evolve to become an extension of myself , and our movements became as fluid as a carefully choreographed dance between two partners.” Unfortunately this spoon has since been lost. “I like to believe that it lives on amidst the halls of Valhalla, with other fallen warriors.”
Ward sought to convey the creative process and his cooking style with his spoonful, “finding a working marriage between premium ingredients and locally sourced beautiful produce.
